Edit** the pool has always been very mediocre. They do not put any effort into keeping it clean. It’s always cloudy and dirty. The hot tub is STILL broken. Your pool is in the pictures and supposed to be an attractive feature, but I think it’s gross. Just a little chlorine. Maybe a working filtration system. Do better** Moved in in Jan ‘24. This place is pretty nice. Well maintained. And mostly quiet and friendly. The amenities are really great. The location is perfect, walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops; the golf course keeps things relatively quiet. Clubhouse is kept clean and it’s a great space. The pool is beautiful. My apartment is a nice size for the price and relatively updated. Never had an issue with maintenance. A few complaints: The package delivery room is a trainwreck; I have my packages delivered to my office now to avoid the headache. The hot tub in the pool area must be broken; it’s never hot and the jets have never worked. It’s quite loud if you live on the Chandler Blvd side of the complex. No sound proofing in the apartments. The clubhouse is not open 24 hours to residents; it closes when staff leaves. 🙄
When I wrote my original review, I was frustrated and let that seep into my review. Now that I've had some time to reflect, let me explain in a more calm and collected manner why you do not want to live here. 1) Rule Enforcement. Management here will bleed you to death with enforcement of every last ticky tack rule. This includes towing you from your own, reserved parking spot if you happen to forget your parking sticker. Mind you, management has a description and license plate # of every car that should be in every reserved space, so they COULD be nice and check things that way before towing. They CHOOSE to not be nice and rigidly enforce things. 2) Rules for thee, but not for me. You can get towed for not abiding by the rules....but not if you're part of the building management. One of the leasing staff members regularly parks in the "future resident" parking because she doesn't want to walk one block. The plebs have to follow the rules, but management does not. 3) Package Delivery. In a word, it sucks. Management installed a new system that requires the delivery drivers to take extra steps to secure packages. As you can imagine, many of the drivers have no interest in doing so, so they dump packages haphazardly. I have to chase down a missing package about 1 out of every 5 times. 4) Conveniently "forgetting" to apply rent credits. Management will often have promotions for prospective tenants for free rent. This is applied at move in as a credit towards your account. It took me two months and numerous trips down to the office to get my rent credit properly applied. 5) Parking. In a word, it also sucks. There is extremely limited guest parking (like, single digit number of spaces), so forget having friends over. And, if you do, make sure they don't park in the "future resident" parking, or else they'll be towed. After all, the leasing staff needs somewhere to park. 6) Management ignores real problems. Instead of towing people for parking in their own parking spaces, management COULD be paying attention to real problems, like people not picking up after their dogs. But those things are ignored, so you will see (and have to step around) dog feces on a regular basis. Is this the worst place to live? Absolutely not. It's kept relatively clean and it's in a decent location. But there are SO MANY other, better locations that have nicer staff and saner enforcement of rules, especially at this more premium price point. My advice is to look beyond this location and find something better. It won't be hard.
i lived here for two years and i could not say enough good things about it. originally from the midwest, i did extensive research on apartments before i flew out to look. i came out for 4 days and had back to back viewings the entire time. except i didn’t. this was the last stop on my first day and i knew immediately that my search was over. the complex itself is beautiful and well maintained! i’ve never had any complaints about the grounds or amenities at all. smells great all the time? music by the pool. direct view of the golf course. beautiful sunsets. ping pong. 9 panel TV. rooftop deck. rotunda room. business center. valet trash. cornhole. putting green. firepits. grills galore. seriously the first month i lived here i kept referring to it as “the hotel” cause it was just so luxurious it was hard to remember that i actually lived here. the community helps with that though! all the residents are so kind, i’ve made friends of all ages in my two years here! everyone is pretty social, a lot of us know each others name. THE STAFF knows our names. im really trying to keep this short, but Jacquie is absolutely amazing. you can tell she genuinely loves and cares for this community. she made me feel so comfortable in my move and i knew that if i ever needed anything i could ask her. she is so in touch with her residents — she helped me rehome a kitten i found to another resident that had lost her cat. how SWEET is that! maintenance is so timely that i usually WAIT to put in requests cause i know they’ll show up within a day. the apartment themselves are beautiful! very sleek, high ceilings, great balconies, HUGE islands. great materials. my favorite apartment i’ve ever lived in. the location is great! short walk to downtown chandler shops and restaurants. close to the 101 and 202 and the mall. it really made me sad to have to move from this place, it was the first apartment i’ve ever had that truly felt like home. i highly recommend this community! Thank you to all the staff and the residents of Summit at San Marcos for making my transition to Arizona comfortable ❤️✨
Almost 3 years living here and 3 years well spent. From the amazing front office staff Jacquie, Crystal and Taylor to the super nice maintenance team, i've enjoyed every day. My thoughts are heard, the vibes are up, the location is amazing, my apartment is swanky, it's going to be hard to leave here!! Probably wont till i buy a house. 10/10 APARTMENT living. Thank you Summit!
Guys, I needed to move in one month. Miss Jackie sent me on a self guided tour since Taylor was out of office. Which is fine. I go to see 2 units of the same floor plan, one had the attached photo and the doors were stuck. Like every door. I had to he mad the pantry open in both units. There was a dead cricket on the counter. The fan vents in the bathrooms did not work. The fans and light themselves barely worked. The light was so so dim. The fans on high barely turned. I was so so excited to see this place and sign my life away for another year. I think this just convinced me to stay where I am.
