Ra Sushi in Old Town Scottsdale continues to impress with its exceptional food, friendly service, and vibrant atmosphere. Every visit is a reminder of why this spot is a standout for sushi lovers. The menu offers a fresh and creative take on traditional Japanese flavors — my meal included a poke bowl, fried rice, spicy wings, garlic edamame, and a seared tuna appetizer, all prepared beautifully and bursting with flavor. A special thanks to our server Gavin, whose attentiveness and warm attitude made the experience even better. The Naughty Toro Roll and the Chili Ponzu Yellowtail Roll are absolute must-tries — the quality and flavor are second to none. Ra Sushi’s consistency, from food to service, makes it a go-to destination in Scottsdale. Five stars, every time.
We stumbled upon this restaurant thanks to the farmers market. Its beautiful, we had lunch outside 😋 the food and drinks were delicious the staff was fast and friendly. We'd definitely dine in again
RA Sushi is the perfect place for a casual and delicious lunch. I ordered the bento box, and it was such a good value — everything was fresh, flavorful, and nicely portioned. I sat outside on the patio while working, and it was a great setup — comfortable seating, good shade, and a relaxed vibe that made it easy to get some work done while enjoying my meal. The service was friendly and efficient, and everything came out quickly, which I really appreciated on a busy day. Definitely a go-to spot for a great lunch and a little fresh air!
Abraham was our waiter and he was so personable, attentive, and made sure everything in our order was perfect. Easily one of the best waiters I’ve had in months. Drew, the bartender, also helped us out, chatted a bit, and was generous with his time despite not being assigned to our table. He recommended the Cinnamon Tempura Ice Cream ($11.50 but HUGE and worth it), which was INCREDIBLE, and definitely a must-try. This is the type of dessert you wont find anywhere else. Aside from that, everything we ordered was off the happy hour menu, and the prices were SO good. For the appetizer, we got the “RA” Chips and Salsa ($3 during happy hour), and WOW - no words! I asked Abraham his thoughts before we ordered it, and he was absolutely correct that it was delicious. It was a medium-heat mango salsa with avocado and the chips were crunchy (but not weak/breakable) and super flavorful. For the entree, I got the Viva Las Vegas Roll ($12 happy hour), which is like an upgraded version of the vegas roll we all know and love, but I was actually floored by how delicious it was (I think I’m gonna dream about it later). My boyfriend ordered the Spicy Crispy Rice ($9 happy hour), and he loved it. I tried some as well, and I would say its not very spicy but the texture and ratio of the rice and fish was great. We shared the Spicy Tuna Roll ($6 happy hour), and that was definitely noticeably spicier than the crispy rice. A classic, simple roll, but it was done very well. I’ll also note that the presentation of the food was so beautiful as well, especially the chips & salsa, vegas roll, and dessert. We will most certainly be returning - new favorite sushi place!
Overall a very mixed experience. We were seated quickly, but then had to wait 20 minutes to put in our order. Got a couple sushi rolls and an order of teriyaki steak, and like the service the food quality varied wildly. One of the rolls was quite good, but the other was topped with fish that looked like it had been left out and the steak was fatty and chewy, hardly worth the price point. On top of that one of our drinks was forgotten about entirely until we brought up it was missing. I've gotten better food for less than half the price, this isn't one we'll be regulars at any more.
