Avoid dealing with the office managed by Carlie Goulet. They will lie and manipulate. I spoke with them about transferring from an upstairs unit, due to leg and back nerve problems, which they stated they could not do a "transfer". A few weeks later they got back to me and stated they could do a transfer to help me out due to my situation and that my lease would transfer exactly as it was from my renewed lease that month, in November. This had been preceeded by four months of being told the unit would be ready "soon". In November I was told to look over the unit to verify it was ready. I needed out of the upstairs so I took it regardless. Well, here are the photos of THAT units condition. The roach poop and damages in the unit. The damages themselves were mostly minor. Scraped shelves, unpainted spots, whatever. But when i called and spoke with Carlie about the unit she was rude, cut me off and was condescending. She was unaware of what I was referring to. It felt as though she couldn't imagine those issues not having been resolved by the cleaning crew, even though I had submitted photos. I have spoken to one agent more consistently due to my calls to the office being sent straight to voicemail and ignored. Someone had to provide me their personal number because the office staff refuse to speak to me and send my calls straight to voicemail. Now, this started after I was lied to, by Lauren, about the dryer vent being the tenants responsibility. She even offered to have a recommended vendors list sent to me. After I called back stating "tenant laws show the building owner is responsible", they started sending my calls to voicemail. Having alternate numbers to call back with helped figure that out. The vent was finally cleared after I had been complaining about the unit not drying well for years. Yes, years. Four to be more accurate. They even replaced the dryer after the baffle broke and still sent more techs when it wouldn't dry. I have screenshots of all of my maintenance requsts and when they were made and the multitude of times I mentioned the vent. There was also the hole in my window that was there for TWO YEARS. Added photo for reference. The maintenance guy who came to verify this, after I submitted my move in photos, told me "don't hold your breath". One of my current issues is my vent does not function properly. The vent where the filter is placed is held up by six screws. If i am injured while replacing a filter, that's negligence. I won't speak with Carlie after our last conversation where I requested the woman who had been helping me, Brook, but she was unavailable, so I stated I would call back. Carlie stated "we won't even help you until you sign that new lease." Remember how they had said my lease and rent would tranfer? Wrong. They don't do transfers. So I was provided a new lease in January with an increased rent and new security deposit. Even a cleaning fee. This was actually the reason I called that day, because the other agent stated the cleaning fee would be removed because of the photos I provided. Carlie refused to provide me any help or even answer my questions if I did not sign the lease that I was manipulated into. Now, Carlie herself doesn't maintain much of a customer service voice or even her composure so if you have the choice, don't speak with Carlie. As of today, i still have not completed my move from upstairs to downstairs. I have had offers to help me but no follow through. Including the offer for maintenance to assist me. Keller Williams has at least been understanding enough about my medical issue that they stated "you have as much time as you need". Because of this, I have worked very hard to make sure the unit is as clean as I can get it for them. But personally, I don't feel that makes up for being unable to properly communicate with the office itself. People can be as upset with me as they want for any given reason, but you at least need to be able to not let it affect the way you do your job. ETA: Curious as to who wrote that reply seeing as its from the same office.
