Got our food to go. We had a groupon for 2 large bento boxes and 2 large drinks. We chose a chicken Katsu with double potstickers and a croquet & a Pork Katsu with croquette, potstickers and shrimp spring roll. For our drinks we got brown sugar milk boba. I also ordered a lime squeezling. My daughter was a little disappointed with the chicken katsu curry. It's breaded different and not as good as the pork. The sides are delicious. The drinks are divine. We love the anime atmosphere.
We were very pleasantly surprised! The large bento box was delicious. All the side dishes and mains had the perfect blend of salty, umami, and acidic flavors tuned for their own personality. Also the best texture of takoyaki I’ve had (more later). We got chicken/pork katsu with curry, with yuzu, Taiwanese braised pork rice. Sides were takoyaki, spring rolls, soy curd salad, cucumber salad, and a few more. The mains were solid. The curry sauce was savory with enough acid and sweet to cut through fattier meats like pork and chicken thigh, and generous portions to coat all the rice. I had the chicken, and liked how crispy the skin was + softer, juicy meat underneath. Edges of the chicken katsu were a tad overcooked however, stringier (~10% on the border). Taiwanese meat rice was great. Sauce properly soaked through the rice underneath. The highlight of the meal were the sides. Takoyaki: there is an extremely thin yet crispy veneer on the exterior, and after breaking through it with your teeth, the inside was uniformly creamy. This is the biggest surprise. I haven’t found anything like this before, and I’ve had takoyaki a lot including in Japan. Cucumber salad was crunchy and mildly sweet-and-sour, paired perfectly with the heavier curry. The soy curd was also delicious, and had more of a Sichuan heat to it, but was slightly tough and hard to chew (could’ve maybe soaked longer).
We just had a bento box experience, and we enjoyed it! Great service and food! Thank you Daniel for being so accommodating and giving us such a great service! 🙏
I got the Stif fried street noodles and Sea salt matcha, the food came out pretty fast, service was nice, the drinks are adjustable which is very nice if you dont like it too sweet or want less ice, the food comes in a cute bento that i could barley finish because i got full from bothe the drink and the noodles. EAT HERE!!!
