This place was very interesting. I loved the night atmosphere and vibe. I got the chicken Topo Loco with no hot sauce, but the chicken was coated is some sort of other hot sauce because it was too hot to even finish. I definitely have a low spice tolerance but half of the people in my family didn’t even finish theirs either. BUT, I will say if this was not spicy it would be my favorite burrito ever! Adding fritos inside is so creative and I loved the crunch. Overall, 4 stars but if there was no spice this would easily be in my top 3 favorite burritos
I had lunch at Gilbert downtown and the architecture of Topo attracted me to check out their menu. One of the highlights of my visit was the prickly pear ice cream, absolutely delicious! I ordered "twist" with chocolate dip - It’s a combination of vanilla and prickly pear. I highly recommend trying it as it’s a unique treat you won't find everywhere. Tips - There are more seating behind Topo. It looks like a small picnic area with lot of sparrows and shades. I would definitely come back and try other menu items.
A very fun and unique place to visit. Definitely stop by if you are in the area. If you go for the icecream i recommend a vanilla/prickly pear swirl with a lime coating. Both the ice cream and coating has great flavor and goes well with each other. I’m not the biggest fan of the prickly pear coating. A very dull flavor the comes off as a weak chocolate. This isn’t the case with the icecream, just the coating. Be prepared for your icecream to immediately start melting in the AZ heat. That’s just Arizona!
If you've been in DT Gilbert, you've seen Topo! You can't miss it - whether it's the fun groundhog in the top hat or the usually long line going down the street! Topo has quickly become a staple in DT Gilbert for its ice cream! You can grab a scoop or cone while on a stroll, taking in the sights and sounds. Unfortunately, it's pricey. $4.50 for a cone with only 2 options of flavors - vanilla or prickly pear. You can get them dipped, but no toppings or anything else. Not a ton of variety here. They do offer burritos and elote as well, but ice cream is definitely what they're becoming known for. It's a very limited menu and on the pricey side. It's worth trying once if you're visiting DT Gilbert.
Are you kidding? This is awesome! The burrito, there's no way that exists. I don't know what you guys marinate the chicken in, but it's incredible. I wish I could describe the flavor besides savory and salty with the sweetness of the corn, but it was like a burst of flavor and the green fresh salsa topped it off. I had the Topo Loco without Fritos, definitely a good choice, and I have no doubt their other selections live up to their standards like the brisket elote, elote, and their ice cream cones. Overall, it's a place I WILL drive to just for the burrito.
